> Retirement

Michael Meagher retired from practice as a consultant with our firm on 30 June 2008. Michael was formerly a principal of Coulter Burke which merged with
Gargan & Roache to form Coulter Roache in 2002 and retired as a partner in July 2005. Michael retired after a lengthy career in the law since 1968 and his contributions have been well documented.

> Merger Announcement

The practice of Alan Williamson, merged with Coulter Roache on 1 July 2008. This is exciting news for the firm and its continuing development. Alan brings a general practice of commercial, property, wills and litigation clients with him which he will continue to service at Coulter Roache. His assistant Diane will also join Coulter Roache. Over time Alan will specialise in Commercial Law having been involved in some substantial transactions including a major High Court Trade Practices dispute.

> Australian Masters Games - Legal Appointment

Coulter Roache Lawyers was appointed legal advisors to the 12th Australian Masters Games being held in Geelong in 2009. Such work will include reviewing and drafting contracts and agreements, licences and permits, assisting the Games with any legal issues, and acting as the Games official lawyers. We are very proud to be invited to be associated with this national event which we hope will be a tremendous success for the Geelong region.

> New Branch Office on the Bellarine Peninsula

On 8 May 2008, Coulter Roache opened its third office on the Surf Coast at 88 Newcombe St Portarlington, Bellarine Peninsula. Our other branch offices are located in Barwon Heads and Anglesea on the coast and Bannockburn. The Portarlington office will be staffed by Christine Fox a local resident who has particular expertise in property law. Christine will also be able to take instructions on Wills and provide information on commercial law issues. The office is part of the Abbey Real Estate premises and will be open every Thursday from 9am - 5pm. Call: 5259 3582

> Workplace Relations Monthly Seminars


The firm  hosts bimonthly Workplace Relations Seminars on a Thursday at 7.15am at The Mercure, Corner Myers and Gheringhap Streets. Cost $20 per person including hot breakfast with proceeds going to United Way. Our next seminar will be held in november - date and topic to be advised. Call Debra on 5273 5236 to register.
